Sam Macaluso Workplace Trainer
& Assessor
The main thrust of Sam's work has been to help companies improve their operations by focussing on their core business.
During the 1980's and 1990's he was instrumental in developing manufacturing systems focussed on
Lean Manufacturing for a multi national company. This is now the driving force for continuous
improvement in all areas of that business. Since then he has continued to study and apply the ideas behind the Toyota Production System,
Competitive Manufacturing and Lean Thinking. With a degree in Production Engineering, his career roles have included Production Management, Planning Management, Business Improvement Management, Productivity Improvement Consultant and is a qualified Workplace Trainer and Assessor. In these roles, Sam has lead projects for many organisations ranging in size from the smallest to some of the largest. He has also been involved in specific project work in USA and Europe.

Jim Orth

Jim has over 35 years practical manufacturing management and consulting experience including the management of several
divisions of the Australian branch of a large global company.
A qualified Chemical Engineer, Jim is also a Six Sigma Blackbelt
and holds a Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and training.
Over the last 3 years Jim has been the team leader for an Australian Furniture Industry productivity improvement program which has been successfully delivered to many Australian furniture manufacturers.
The College of Manufacturing Excellence competitive manufacturing training program has been jointly developed by Jim and co-director Ian Wood.

operator and management teams to improve business and
manufacturing processes. He is a Six Sigma Black Belt and
led Six Sigma deployment in a multinational company
involving the training of 40 Black Belts and 200 Green
Belts.
